The West Central Ohio Better Business Bureau encourages people to check out the charity you are looking to support if it isn’t one you are familiar with and to make sure it is legitimate. The best thing they say is to stay close to home when making your choice of charities.

The stimulus checks from the government are on their way into many bank accounts, but with it, an increase in scammers. The Better Business Bureau is warning of any suspicious emails and phone calls that may request financial information for you to receive your stimulus check. Not only that, but scammers are now using text messages and social media accounts with fake numbers to reach individuals.

It may seem hard to believe, but there are scammers that are taking advantage of the COVID-19 outbreak. Cheryl Parson with the West Central Ohio Better Business Bureau says people should be on the lookout for emails or other kinds of messages claiming to have some kind of cure for COVID-19.
