LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A crossover matchup between the Northwest Conference and the Western Buckeye League went in favor of the home team as the Bath Wildkittens pulled away for a 46–27 win over the Jefferson Wildcats.
Jefferson struck first in the opening quarter when Claire Brinkman found Kyah Kimmett, and the senior finished off the glass to give the Wildcats an early two-point lead.
Bath answered quickly. Trailing by three, Gwyn Foust kicked the ball out to Alycen Stumbaugh, and the sophomore knocked down the three-pointer to tie the game.
Later in the half, Marlie Mason got the feed and converted the basket, accounting for five points on the night and giving the Wildkittens a three-point advantage.
Jefferson continued to battle, with Brinkman crashing the glass and converting a second-chance opportunity to keep the Wildcats within striking distance.
But Bath began to create separation as the game wore on. Stumbaugh connected again from beyond the arc, finishing with 12 points to help the Wildkittens pull away.
Bath went on to secure the 46–27 victory, closing out the nonconference matchup with a strong defensive effort.
