BATH — The Bath Wildcats returned from their bye week in dominant fashion, blanking Bellevue 21-0 in a Division IV playoff matchup on Friday night.
After a scoreless first half, Bath’s defense set the tone with senior LJ Davenport bursting through for a key sack to force a three-and-out. Quarterback Zach Welsch then led the Wildcats downfield, using his legs to move the chains before handing off to Mikey Hale, who punched it in from close range to make it 14-0.
Welsch later connected with Daniel Cole, who slipped past a defender and raced to the end zone to seal the win.
Bath advances to face top-seeded Shelby in the regional semifinals.
