BOTKINS, Ohio - Botkins picked up its first win of the season Tuesday night, beating Elida 4-1.

The Trojans set the tone early, with Caleb Meyer tapping in a goal following a corner kick. Hudson Meyer then doubled the lead from the penalty spot midway through the first half.

Elida battled back in the second half after earning a penalty, with junior captain Colton Rader converting from the spot to cut the deficit to two.

Botkins added another goal in the later stages of the half to secure the 4-1 victory. The Trojans improve to 1-2 on the season.
