CONTINENTAL (WLIO) — Continental used a fast start and a dominant outing in the circle to defeat Upper Scioto Valley 11-1 in six innings.
The Pirates struck early in the first inning when Kenzie Searfoss drove in two runs with a hard hit to third base. Later in the frame, Becca Sullivan added to the lead with a fly ball to center that dropped in for a hit, bringing home two more runs.
Upper Scioto Valley responded in the second as Jaylynn Curtis knocked a ball into right field to score Ashlyn Downing.
Despite the run, Gracie Homier controlled the game from the circle, going six innings while allowing six hits and striking out 12.
Continental pulled away from there to secure the run-rule victory.
