Countdown to Kickoff: Indian Lake leans on veteran line after deepest playoff run in years

LEWISTOWN, Ohio — The Indian Lake Lakers are aiming even higher in 2025 after a historic run last fall that earned them the Mad River Division title and a spot in the Division V regional final—the program’s deepest postseason push since 2016.
The journey wasn’t easy. After starting the 2024 campaign 3–2, the Lakers rattled off eight straight victories, riding their momentum all the way to a showdown with West Liberty-Salem that ended their season one win short of the state semifinals.
Now, with the regular season fast approaching, fifth-year head coach Jonn Rapp believes the team’s next leap forward begins in the trenches.
While Indian Lake must replace its backfield, Rapp is leaning on his experienced offensive line to lead the way—both in blocking assignments and locker room leadership.
The lessons from last year’s postseason run are still fresh, and the Lakers are determined to turn experience into elevation in 2025.
