LEIPSIC (WLIO) ... The Leipsic Vikings enter the 2026 season looking to build on the deepest playoff run in program history.

Leipsic finished 11-2 last season, placed second in the Blanchard Valley Conference and advanced to the Division VII regional final before falling to Putnam County rival Columbus Grove.

Head coach Joe Kirkendall returns for his 17th season and welcomes back eight defensive starters and nine offensive starters, including third-year quarterback Marc Kirkendall.

The Vikings open the season against Tiffin Calvert at Heidelberg University before beginning their Blanchard Valley Conference schedule in Week 2. They close the regular season against Division II opponent Toledo Waite.

While last season set a new standard for the program, Kirkendall says this year's team is focused on writing its own story and believes the Vikings have the talent to make another deep postseason run.
