WAPAKONETA (WLIO) - The Wapakoneta Redskins enter the 2026 season looking to maintain their grip on the Western Buckeye League after another dominant campaign.

Wapakoneta finished 11-1 last season, captured its fifth consecutive WBL championship and extended its conference winning streak to 26 games. The Redskins also carry Ohio's fifth-longest active regular-season winning streak at 28 games.

The season ended with a 41-7 loss to eventual Division III state runner-up Toledo Central Catholic, and Wapakoneta now faces the challenge of replacing key contributors on both sides of the ball, including quarterback Caleb Moyer and Northwest District Lineman of the Year Braylon Walter.

Entering his 13th season, head coach Travis Moyer says the unknowns surrounding this year's team present a challenge, but believes the Redskins have enough talent to continue the program's run of success.
