LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Elida handed Bath its first conference loss of the season with a 39–31 victory Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs struck early in the opening quarter when Claire Dingledine drained a 3-pointer after an offensive rebound to put Elida on the board.
Bath answered quickly as Mara Davis knocked down a 3-pointer of her own, keeping the Wildcats within two.
Elida built momentum as the quarter progressed. Following an inbound play, Lexie Good found Emma Mitchell inside for a basket that extended the Bulldogs’ lead to five.
Bath worked to stay within reach behind senior Izzy McDermott, who connected from long range to cut into the deficit.
However, Elida maintained control for much of the game.
Junior Shae Rager led the Bulldogs, finishing with 11 points and five rebounds, including an and-one basket that helped seal the win.
Elida’s defensive effort down the stretch secured the victory, improving the Bulldogs’ conference standing while snapping Bath’s perfect league record.
