Hardin Northern, Defiance advance in postseason softball action

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Area softball teams continued postseason play Sunday with district champions crowned and regional semifinal matchups finalized.
In Division VII, Hardin Northern Polar Bears defeated Continental Pirates 5-0 in an all-local district championship showdown at Kenton.
The Polar Bears advance to the regional semifinals where they will face the winner of New Miami Vikings and Southeastern Local Trojans. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 at 2 p.m. in Wapakoneta.
In Division III, Defiance Bulldogs rolled past Springfield Blue Devils 10-0 to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2018.
The Bulldogs will now face Western Brown Broncos in the regional semifinals at Pleasant Hill-Newton on Wednesday, May 27 at 2 p.m.
