ADA — Lima Central Catholic battled past Ada in a five-set thriller Tuesday night to capture a sectional championship in high school volleyball.
After Ada dropped the first set, the Bulldogs roared back behind Jaylin St. Laurent’s serving ace to take the second 25-15. LCC answered in the third set, with Tatum Miller recording a key point as the Thunderbirds edged a 25-23 win.
Despite strong play from Carolina Kill and Brooklyn Andreasen, Ada couldn’t hold off LCC’s late surge. The Thunderbirds regrouped in the decisive fifth set, as Kill delivered an ace to close out a 15-5 win and the match 3-2.
LCC advances to face the winner of Spencerville and Columbus Grove in the next round.
