Lincolnview stays perfect with 2-1 win over Wayne Trace

MIDDLE POINT, Ohio (WLIO) — Lincolnview Lancers stayed perfect on the season, edging the Wayne Trace Raiders 2-1 in a tightly contested matchup.
Both teams showcased strong pitching early on. Wayne Trace’s Deklyn Schweinsberg struck out the final batter of the first inning looking, while Lincolnview’s Holden Price answered with a pair of strikeouts to keep the game scoreless.
The Raiders broke through in the third inning when Carter Clemens ripped a ball to the left side, allowing Schweinsberg to come home and give Wayne Trace a 1-0 lead.
Lincolnview responded in the bottom half of the inning. Max Hammons reached base and later advanced to third before Chayse Overholt lifted a fly ball to center field. The out was recorded, but Hammons slid home safely to tie the game.
Later in the game, the Lancers would add one more run and held on for the 2-1 victory.
Lincolnview secures its fifth straight win, improving to 5-0 on the season, while Wayne Trace falls to 3-4.
