Ohio Northern holds off Ohio Wesleyan 64-59 to improve to 2-1

ADA — Ohio Northern improved to 2-1 on the season with a 64-59 home win over Ohio Wesleyan.
The Polar Bears built an early lead in the first half, starting with a three-pointer from Crestview graduate Gavin Etzler to go up 14-5. Minutes later, Ottoville product Will Miller added another three of his 13 points, extending the advantage to 20-6.
Freshman Theo Maag, from Ottawa-Glandorf High School, helped Ohio Northern control the paint. He led the team with 16 points, including a strong move to the rim midway through the half.
ONU continued to move the ball well, highlighted by a Miller assist to Maag cutting along the baseline to push the lead to double digits late in the half.
The play of the night came when Mason Studer set up Bryce Stuart for a soaring dunk. Stuart finished with 12 points on 4-of-4 shooting.
Ohio Northern secured the 64-59 victory to close out the night.
