VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) — Three weeks into the high school football season, it’s time to reveal our latest K&M Contracting Play of the Week.
This week’s honor goes to Van Wert for an incredible sequence in their Western Buckeye League matchup against Bath.
Trailing by seven in the first quarter, Xavier Kelly handed off to Zach Crummey, who quickly shoveled it to Micah Cowan.
Just when it looked like Cowan was in trouble, he lofted a pass toward Geary Hilleary.
The senior made an outstanding grab to prevent an incompletion and crossed the goal line for the game-tying touchdown.
Three different Cougars touched the ball before it ended up in Hilleary’s hands — a true display of teamwork.
Although Van Wert ultimately fell 35-28, the Cougars can celebrate a highlight-reel play that takes home this week’s Play of the Week.
