LIMA — Shawnee’s return to the postseason was a successful one, as the Indians defeated Holy Name 19-10 in the opening round of the Division 3 playoffs.
Dalton Hopson got the Indians on the board first with a touchdown run in the opening series, giving Shawnee a 6-0 lead after a missed extra point.
Later in the game, Isaac Meeks powered his way into the end zone to extend the lead, and the Shawnee defense held strong down the stretch to secure the win.
With the victory, Shawnee improves to 8-3 and advances to face undefeated Wapakoneta, the Western Buckeye League champion, in a regional quarterfinal rematch next Friday.
