SPENCERVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) — The Spencerville Bearcats rolled to a dominant 9-0 victory over Lima Central Catholic in Northwest Conference girls soccer action.
Senior Haley Hittle opened the scoring midway through the first half, heading a rebound off the crossbar just past the goal line to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead.
Not long after, Hittle set up teammate Nora Gallaspie with a perfectly placed cross. The sophomore finished it cleanly, extending Spencerville’s lead to 2-0. Gallaspie wasn’t done.
She added her second goal of the night off an assist from Grace Fledderjohann, pushing the Bearcats’ advantage to three.
Fledderjohann later joined the scoring herself, knocking in another goal as Spencerville’s attack overwhelmed LCC.
By the final whistle, the Bearcats secured their second win of the season in emphatic fashion, shutting out the Thunderbirds 9-0.
