ST. HENRY, Ohio (WLIO) — St. Henry Redskins needed two overtime periods to secure a 75-69 victory over Fort Recovery Indians on Friday night.
St. Henry (16-5) entered the matchup having won seven of the previous eight meetings against Fort Recovery (12-10), and added another chapter to the rivalry with the hard-fought win.
The Redskins trailed by two early before Max Delzeith knocked down a corner 3-pointer to give St. Henry a one-point edge. Fort Recovery answered quickly as Brody Barga drove to the basket and finished with a right-handed layup to put the Indians back in front.
The back-and-forth pace continued. After a missed 3-pointer, Brayden Heath crashed the boards for a tip-in to restore the Redskins’ lead. Landon Schwartz later converted an and-one opportunity to keep St. Henry in control.
Fort Recovery responded from long range. Braylon Dilworth buried a 3-pointer to put the Indians ahead by one, and Hudson Overman followed with another triple to extend the lead to five.
St. Henry answered behind Austin Zimmerman, who attacked the rim for a key basket late in regulation to keep the game within reach.
The teams remained deadlocked through four quarters and the first overtime before St. Henry pulled away in the second extra session to claim the 75-69 victory.
