Taviano leads Perry to dominant 28-0 win over Upper Scioto Valley

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Perry leaned on its defense and a heavy dose of Wyatt Taviano to shut out Upper Scioto Valley 28-0 on Friday night in a Northwest Central Conference matchup. After a scoreless first half marked by defensive stands and a key interception by USV's Ryan Roberts, it was Perry (2-2) that capitalized on second-half mistakes. A misfired snap recovered in the end zone put the Commodores on the board midway through the third quarter. The successful two-point conversion made it 8-0. From there, it was all Taviano. The senior running back bulldozed his way through the Rams’ defense, finishing with 46 carries for 257 yards and three touchdowns. Perry’s defense also stood tall throughout, shutting down any momentum USV (2-2) tried to build in the second half. Perry’s victory evens its record at 2-2, while Upper Scioto Valley falls to .500 after a strong start to the season.
