LIMA — Lima Senior pushed its unbeaten start to 3-0 on Friday night, rolling past Whitmer 88-44 behind a standout performance from senior guard Willie Foster.
The Spartans, now 2-0 in conference play, controlled the pace early after 6-foot-7 Elynn Stearns opened the scoring with a pump fake and soft finish. Jeff Williams followed with a first-quarter corner three, helping Lima Senior build a 17-8 lead.
In the second quarter, a loose ball found its way to Foster, who continued a dominant night by extending the margin to 21-10. Moments later, Amari Addy set up Foster for a high-flying finish off the glass, part of several transition plays that pushed the lead to 17. Foster, a Northern Kentucky commit, led all scorers with 25 points.
Williams added a highlight of his own with a drive and spin that led to a behind-the-back assist to Shawn Foster in the corner for another Spartan three. Shawn Foster finished with 11 points, matching Williams’ total.
Lima Senior’s defense held firm throughout, turning turnovers into easy transition baskets to put the game out of reach early in the second half.
The Spartans closed the night with another convincing performance, topping the Panthers 88-44 to continue their strong start to the season.
