OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) – St. Marys Memorial used a strong second-half performance to pull away from Ottawa-Glandorf on Friday night, earning a 17-3 road victory and moving one step closer to a .500 record. The Roughriders (2-3) held a narrow 7-3 lead at halftime before taking control in the third quarter. Senior quarterback Aiden Meinerding extended the lead with a 1-yard touchdown run after Caleb Schmidt was brought down just shy of the goal line following a long run. St. Marys added insurance in the fourth quarter with a 43-yard field goal from Bradey Triplett, sealing the win and keeping Ottawa-Glandorf (0-5) winless on the season. The two teams had split their last 10 meetings evenly, but the Roughriders now hold the edge in the rivalry for the moment. St. Marys returns home next week in search of another win, while O-G continues its hunt for a first victory.
