April 3, 2024 Press Release from the University of Northwestern Ohio: More than a dozen University of Northwestern Ohio Sport Marketing and Management students, along with their professor, are making the trek to Cleveland, Ohio to assist with programming and general event support for the Women’s Final Four portion of the NCAA March Madness tournament this spring.
Having the opportunity to experience a major collegiate sporting event like the NCAA Final Four will be another feather in the cap for UNOH Sport Marketing and Management Students. Students in the Sport Marketing and Management program have previously been able to participate in work experience opportunities during the NFL Draft, MLB All-Star Game, Men’s Final Four, and four previous Super Bowl events.
“Our Sport Marketing program at UNOH is built on real-world experiences, and participating at the Women’s NCAA Final Four is another great opportunity for our students,” said UNOH professor Phil Gunder. “Graduates from our program are gainfully employed because of experiences like this. We are excited to be a part of a historical event this year as the Women’s Final Four features some fantastic teams and world-class athletes.”
Students will travel to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland on April 4, 2024 and begin work the next day volunteering at Tourney Town presented by Capital One. The next few days will be filled with assisting inside the stadium during games, general event support, and greeting and assisting fans as part of the On Location Experience at Progressive Field. Finally, on Sunday April 7, 2024 students will be deployed to any area that needs extra help or volunteers ranging from fan support with on-the-court activations and pop-a-shot areas to line management or assisting in the Operations Center.

Wayne, Indiana; Logan Rolfes – Dayton, Ohio; Jacob Taylor – Kenton, Ohio; Holly Tyrrell – Bedford, England; and Veronica Valentine – Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
