Another group of Racers at the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) graduated from students to alumni this weekend. It was their last opportunity to look back on their time together as the class of 2019. “I think seeing everyone and just kind of reminiscing on the last four years, it’s been a rollercoaster, so [I’m] excited to celebrate everyone’s achievements and everything we’ve done and get ready to be adults,” said Brooke Raines, 21, who graduated with a Bachelors degree in Sports Marketing and Management.

Students at UNOH are getting active to support victims of sexual assault. April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month and UNOH hosted an "I Ask" Run/Walk to help raise awareness for sexual assault Monday after the first run was rained out. Teal is the color of sexual assault awareness and prevention, and throughout the course, participants were doused in teal powder with their permission, in honor of the victims.

A University of Northwestern Ohio ROTC cadet became the latest 2nd lieutenant to join the ranks of the active duty U.S. military Saturday morning. As UNOH student Miguel Sanchez, III closes one chapter of his life, he opens another. After four years of participating in the school’s ROTC program while working on his bachelor's degree, Sanchez began transitioning into an active duty role after his commissioning ceremony.

In an effort to strengthen communications surrounding sexual violence, a local university has stepped up to lead the way. The University of Northwestern Ohio is holding a conference titled "Changing the Landscape". The goal is to get law enforcement, medical personnel, counselors, and Title IX staff on the same page when it comes to the report of a sexual assault.
