Shawnee, Celina and Wapakoneta are among West Central Ohio teams who advance as sectional softball tournament resumes

LIMA (WLIO) — Softball sectional finals resumed Monday night across Ohio with several west central Ohio teams advancing deeper into postseason play.
In Division III, Shawnee rolled past Lima Senior 15-1, while Celina defeated Tiffin Columbian 11-1. The Bulldogs and Indians will now square off next Thursday in the district semifinals at UNOH.
Wapakoneta also advanced with an 11-1 victory over Elida. The Redskins will next meet another Western Buckeye League opponent in Defiance next Thursday at UNOH.
Bellefontaine moved on as well after defeating Archbishop Carroll 10-2. The Chieftains will face Tippecanoe on Tuesday in Tipp City.
In Division IV, Indian Lake edged Benjamin Logan 5-4 to advance to a matchup against Brookville on Tuesday at Brookville.
Division VI featured a high-scoring battle with Houston surviving Fort Recovery 12-11. Houston now prepares for Springfield Northeastern on Tuesday at home. Riverside saw its season end in a 2-1 loss to National Trail.
And in Division VII, Putnam County League rivals Ottoville and Miller City renewed their rivalry in sectional tournament action. The Wildcats earned a 6-0 shutout victory and will face the winner of Continental and Holgate next Wednesday.
