ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — A two-vehicle crash in Allen County on Tuesday afternoon left a Lima woman with life-threatening injuries, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said 24-year-old Grace Cook of Lima was taken by Spencerville EMS to Mercy Health – St. Rita's Medical Center with what were described as life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Deep Cut Road and Defiance Trail.
According to the patrol, Cook was driving a Jeep Compass westbound on Deep Cut Road when her vehicle was struck on the driver's side by a northbound Jeep Patriot driven by 29-year-old Caleb Hembree of Lima.
Investigators said Hembree failed to stop at a stop sign before entering the intersection. He was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
