392 grams of heroin found during traffic stop on U.S. 68

Local troopers turn a traffic stop on U.S. 68 into a drug bust.

According to the Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, around 2:45 Thursday morning, troopers pulled over a minivan with West Virginia plates for a lane violation and, seeing some criminal indicators they called in the Hancock County Sheriff's drug-sniffing dog. During the search, 392 grams of heroin valued at nearly $70,000 was found. The two women in the minivan were arrested and charged with possession of heroin. If convicted each one could face up to 11 years in prison.

So far this year, 106 drug arrests have been made in Hancock County by the State Highway Patrol. That number is the second highest in our region, behind Allen County, where troopers made 270 drug arrests.
