DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) - Delphos St. John's students are wrapping up Fun to Read Week with fun activities focusing on literacy.
6th graders prepared comedy puppet shows based on different biblical tales to present to kindergarteners. The project comes after a week full of activities to encourage students to read more outside of school, like making positive message posters and giveaways. Fun to Read Week hopes to show kids from an early age that reading isn't just something you have to do for school.
"Everything you do in life, you have to know how to read, and it just gives you such an advantage. Any time you can read, you're going to become a better reader, so read more, read more, read more," said Jean Mueller, library media specialist at Delphos St. John's.
Fun to Read Week has been a St. John's tradition for over twenty years.
