CONVOY, OH (WLIO) - A Convoy man died in a single-vehicle crash in rural Van Wert County Friday night. The Van Wert Sheriff’s Office says 88-year-old Everett Junior Thatcher was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. According to deputies, they were called out just after 5:30 pm to Mendon Road just south of State Road for a pickup truck that struck a utility pole. Thatcher was the only person in the vehicle. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Ohio City and Van Wert EMS.
