Allen County Commissioners are preparing for a public hearing regarding big alternative energy and Senate Bill 52.
The bill has given more control to local authorities to determine if their county is open for business to these industries. Commissioners asked townships for recommendations for the creation of a “Renewable Energy Map”. On Tuesday they determined how the process of the hearing will work.
Allen County Commissioner Brian Winegardner explains, “There will be some procedures that you will need to follow coming in if you want to speak. There will be a registration and the map will be on display at that time."
Each person wishing to make comments will get 3 minutes to do so. That public hearing is scheduled for April 4th at 5:30 pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Civic and Convention Center.
