LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – What started nearly two decades ago as a simple way to help local families has grown into a valued tradition in Lima and Allen County. The annual Un-Garage Sale, hosted by the staff and administration at Allen County Children Services, is now in its 19th year.

The event offers families in need access to free clothing, household items, and toys, all thanks to generous donations from the community. Organizers are currently in need of donations, especially children’s clothing. Items can be dropped off at the Children Services office at 123 West Spring Street on the following dates and times:

  • Friday, July 25, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

  • Monday, July 28, and Tuesday, July 29, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Large furniture and appliances **will not** be accepted.

On Thursday, July 31, clients of Allen County Children Services will be invited to "shop" at the Un-Garage Sale from 9 a.m. to noon. That afternoon, the event opens to the public from noon to 3 p.m. Last year’s event served 478 people, including 274 children, providing a boost to families who needed it most.
