LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District is taking conservation efforts to new heights.
The district recently purchased two new drones for mapping and aerial photography, analyzing land features, and monitoring crop health. Residents will have the chance to see the technology in action during upcoming drone demonstrations, which will show how the drones operate and how they’re being used to support conservation across the county.
“I think it’s important for us to show the public what they’ve spent money on. There’s new technology out there that can help and support conservation, and we want people to come out and see what exactly they can do and what they look like,” said Josh Zwez, drone coordinator and pilot for the Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District.
The demonstration will take place at the Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District office on Saturday morning from 10 to 11. Registration is encouraged but not required.
