The big topic of the night revolved around possible rate increases for emergency medical services within Delphos city limits. According to Delphos City Auditor Adam Kayser, Delphos residents currently pay $881 for basic life support runs, $962 for advanced life support one, $1,122 for advanced life support two, and a mileage fee of $17 per mile. The City of Delphos looks to increase rates by 4.21% next year. After Monday night's meeting, we talked with Kayser about what is behind the change and the progress made tonight.

"The city sets their rates and applies increases each year based on a nationally available index called the Milliman Medical Index (MMI). Tonight was the third reading. Council elected to vote, and they voted down this legislation... and the reason why is we're using the information in that index to correct a bit of volatility that occurred during the COVID era with medical rates, and we are doing some longer-term math there to try to rectify that and get that to balance out so we can be most fair and representative of those rates for our citizens," explains Adam Kayser, Auditor, City of Delphos.

In other business, Delphos City Council passed legislation to vacate a portion of Gressel Drive. This will allow the Gressel Drive relocation project to move forward, opening up additional land for industrial growth.
