The action follows the discovery of deficient cybersecurity practices and the companies’ failure to comply with the agencies’ examination authority following a data breach that impacted approximately 5.8 million customers, including 138,906 Ohioans.

December 17, 2024, Press Release from the Office of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost: (COLUMBUS, Ohio) — A federal judge has appointed Ohio as lead plaintiff in a securities class-action lawsuit against ZoomInfo Technologies Inc., a software company accused of deliberately misleading investors, fueling $75.9 million in losses for two state pension funds. In a motion filed on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, Yost sought the lead-plaintiff status on behalf of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and the State Teachers Retirement System. The lawsuit accuses ZoomInfo of committing securities fraud by concealing a slowing demand for its product after a temporary revenue boost early in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lima Fire Department is one small step closer to building a new fire station. Back in October, Lima Fire Chief, Jack McDermitt, told Your Hometown Stations that a study is being conducted by the Ohio Fire Chief's Association. That study will determine what the new fire station will look like. Also back in October, Lima City Council passed legislation to create a capital fund project for the fire station construction. On Monday night, councilors voted to transfer money to the project fund marking a little bit of progress of making the new fire station a reality.
