LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Golfers didn’t have to brave the cold today as they played in the Civic Center Foundation’s golf outing.
Twenty-five teams participated in the indoor golf scramble to raise money for the non-profit organization. Teams of four played a virtual 18 holes at the Pinehurst Golf Course in North Carolina. The event raises funds for the Broadway Series and other projects at the center. Organizers say it’s a great winter break for people.

Carmen Cecala-Wells, Director of Development for the Civic Center Foundation, said, "I think a lot of people are tired of being stuck at home and ready to play some golf, and this is the perfect opportunity to do it and be warm and have a good time, and for a good cause."
There was also a silent auction to help raise dollars. This is the 5th year for the event.
