TOLEDO, Ohio (WLIO) – Your Hometown Stations, along with sister stations WDRB, the Fox affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky, and WAND, the NBC affiliate in Decatur, Illinois, have been sold.
It was announced Friday that Block Communications Inc., the stations' owner since 1971, has sold its three broadcast properties to Gray Media, based in Atlanta, Georgia. Gray is a publicly traded company that owns approximately 180 stations in 113 television markets across the United States. Over the coming months, the sale will undergo the standard federal regulatory review process, which could take six to 12 months.
During this time, our viewers in West Central Ohio will continue to see our commitment to our mission of bringing you the region’s news, weather, and sports, and the quality programming you have come to expect. No immediate changes are expected as Gray’s purchase of BCI’s broadcast properties moves forward.
