LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - It's a time for fellowship, nourishment, and connection at the Greater Christ Temple.
"Food for the Body and Soul" (FBS) is a monthly outreach program that provides free hot meals and spiritual encouragement to the community every fourth Wednesday of the month. Now, approaching year two of the program, organizers say each member can use this opportunity to give back and help those in need. Anyone is welcome to pick up something to eat as the church hopes to serve at least one hundred meals.
“We know some people are on a fixed income. Some people have food stamps, and it's running out towards the end of the month. It tends to be hard for people to have meals and just to be able to provide food for their family. We wanted to be able to assist with that. We wanted to be able to bless the community, so we thought it will be a great way to come out and have a dinner on us,” said Liz Hylton, Evangelist, Greater Christ Church.
The Greater Christ Temple is inviting everyone to attend their service every Sunday at 11 am.
