LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Kiwanis Club of Lima continuing to support local organizations through monetary donations.
The Kiwanis held a check presentation Tuesday afternoon to help the efforts of Guiding Light Ministries, Crime Victim Services, the Equestrian Therapy Program, and Apollo Career Center. The money donated was raised during the Kiwanis' annual barbeque and their recent 5K. The club says that they continue to make these donations to pay it forward when it comes to the wellbeing of area children.
"All the monies that we raise go to support profit nonprofit organizations that do things that benefit the lives of children; that's our main effort worldwide, not just in Ohio," said Candy Newland, a member of the Kiwanis Club of Lima. "We have a marvelous community of support, and I'm proud to be part of that."
The Kiwanis Club recently made donations to other area organizations earlier in October.
