Students in the Spartan Inn culinary program also prepared a free meal for attendees to enjoy. Superintendent Andre Rudolph said the event highlights the importance of public education, especially amid ongoing discussions surrounding public versus private schools.

"Public education is the foundation of any good community. I am a proponent of school choice, but at the end of the day, you need a strong public school system that all kids can attend. That is a great option. Essentially, all of these students, all of these children will grow up to be the leaders of tomorrow. You can come to a public school and get it done and be well-trained and well-prepared to go do whatever you want to do in life," says Andre Rudolph, Superintendent, Lima City Schools.

Additional activities are scheduled to take place throughout the week at individual school buildings.
