Fred Miller, president of the Wapak Breakfast Optimist Club, said, “What more could you ask for, to be out in the sun in a hammock, reading? I mean, that just says it all. For the kids, that's our end goal, to create better, I guess, projects for kids that are out there to help them as far as their comprehension in school.”

Keith Horner, superintendent of Apollo Career Center, said the event is a great way to highlight the programs at the school. “People are very proud of what they’re doing here and what they’re learning here at Apollo, and we want them to be able to show it off. And it’s great for the grandparents to be able to see what we have to offer the students in the community.”

The Lima campus began its fall semester on Tuesday, and the university is holding events throughout the week to help students feel comfortable and excited about the semester.
