LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — With Tax Day approaching, the City of Lima is ensuring that residents have ample time to file their returns.
Starting Monday, April 7, the Lima Tax Department will offer extended hours for taxpayers. The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will also be open on Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for added convenience.

"Those that have to file would have received a notification from us, unless they're new to the area," said Chris Fast, Lima’s tax director. "If you're a Lima resident and you work in another community, you're going to need to file so we can give you credit for the tax you may have paid to another municipality. We give credit up to our one and a half percent."
The tax filing deadline is Tuesday, April 15. Residents mailing their returns must ensure they are postmarked on or before April 15 to be considered on time.
