ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - It’s getting to be that time of year when patriotism shines as the Fourth of July approaches.
The Lima Symphony Orchestra is preparing for their annual “POPS” concert. This year, they are excited to be performing at the new Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater for the first time. The performance will be full of beloved American tunes, and the symphony is looking forward to the outdoor venue.
Executive Director Elizabeth Brown-Ellis says, “We are so excited about it. It’s been a dream watching the progress of it, and last year, when it opened, we sat there in the audience and thought when and how are we going to get here. This is our first time to be able to perform there, and we can’t wait to just get on that stage.”
The concert at the Pangle Pavilion in the park will be on Saturday, June 29th, at 7 p.m. They will also be playing on the lawn of the McIntosh Center at Ohio Northern University on Sunday, June 30th, at 7 p.m. Both concerts are free and open to the public.
