No one wants to get out of their car on a hot day like this, so the Area Agency on Aging made it so those that had papers to shred today, didn't have to.
In honor of National Elder Abuse Awareness Month, the Agency on Aging partnered with WiltonKeck, for a 3- hour shred-a-thon to help members of the community dispose of personal documents like receipts, credit card offers, or any other mail that might contain personal information.
"So last year we had just over 160 people come through," said Anna Hairston, Area Agency on Aging 3. "And that's not only seniors, anybody in the community can come on out and do that."
The shred-a-thon is a yearly event that is free to not only seniors but everyone in the community as well.
