New St. Marys office location to enhance Auglaize County EMA services

The new location will offer several advantages, including handicap accessibility, more space, and improved operational efficiency.

ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) — The Auglaize County Emergency Management Agency is in the process of relocating one of its offices from rural Auglaize County to the municipal building in St. Marys.

While the agency’s primary office in the Auglaize County Administration Building will remain in place, the new location will offer several advantages, including handicap accessibility, more space, and improved operational efficiency. Officials say the move will help centralize their operations.

"They can come in, see us, talk to us that way. It's a little easier for inclement weather. As far as you know, we're in downtown, not the farthest out in the community. So that way, the routes are a little safer in the winter and stuff like that, to get to if we needed to. Plus, we have a large-scale parking area now, things like that," said Troy Anderson, director of the Auglaize County EMA.

Anderson added that they hope to have the new office fully operational by Feb. 14. The address is located at 101 West Spring Street, St. Marys, Ohio.
