Otterbein Senior Life in Cridersville had their annual Friendsgiving for the residents.
CRIDERSVILLE, OH (WLIO) - With Thanksgiving next week, some are already starting to celebrate the holiday.
Otterbein Senior Life in Cridersville had their annual Friendsgiving for the residents. The main dish was provided, but the residents were tasked with bringing their favorite Thanksgiving side dishes. This is a great time for the residents to come together, share stories, and connect with one another.
"The fact that we can get together and share a meal and share the love we all have for each other in living here—it's a fun time, but it's also a very somber time in a way to think about it, especially at Thanksgiving time," said Barbara Bonifas, a resident at Otterbein.

The residents aren't the only ones who enjoy these events; the staff enjoy being able to put them on for their residents.
"For us, it's just a matter of seeing them get together and laugh; we love listening to them talk about their stories about Thanksgiving day," said Camille Garbash, director of marketing for Otterbein Senior Life. "It's much different than when we were growing up on Thanksgiving day, and for us, it's the smiles and the laughter that just says it all."
Randy Long provided music for everyone throughout the evening.
