LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima residents put their brains to the test at trivia night.
Those in attendance were also able to participate in a silent auction on the night as well.
The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program at Crime Victim Services put on their first-ever trivia night to raise money to help train volunteers to better advocate for and support children in the foster system, with several community partners donating baskets and other prizes for guests to bid on. Those in attendance were also able to participate in a silent auction on the night as well.
"Tonight, we are putting on this fundraiser to raise money for that. It costs us about a thousand dollars to train a volunteer, so every little bit of tonight's funds is going to go into funding a volunteer who is going to be directly working with a child in our community. We had a lot of very generous donations. We're really excited that we got to partner with all of our partners in the community, and we all kind of come together to support the kids in our community," added Zach Reneau, CASA.
