LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It has been five years now that a local group has taken their ministry to the streets of Lima, and it's now time to celebrate!
They will be holding an anniversary celebration on Monday, July 15, 2024, that will include a "Remembrance Wall."
Com_UNITY Ministries has spent the last five years trying to curb the violence and bring unity to Lima. By holding events like "Prayers in the Park" and "Cookies with a Cop," organizers hope they are making a difference. "There are some 40-plus names on the remembrance wall from 2019 to 2024 that have lost their lives to some sort of violence here in the city of Lima, and we do want to at least remember them," said Mary Blanche Hengstler, Com_UNITY Ministries.
The anniversary celebration will be Monday, July 15th, at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center Park, located at 400 East Eighth Street in Lima, OH 45805, beginning at 6 p.m. There will be praise, fellowship, and fun for all who attend.
