It has helped dozens of individuals with hundreds of volunteers and it's expanding this year.
"Ignite Lima" organized by Community Relief will now be five days instead of three from June 7th through the 11th. Once again they are looking for volunteers to help in any way. They are looking for skilled individuals in carpentry, plumbing, and other trades, along with people who can help with food and faith-related items. This is their 3rd year and the need for assistance just keeps growing.
Community Relief Director Matt Naylor adds, “So, really it requires more volunteers every year to do that. But again, the ultimate goal is to share the love and hope of Christ with homeowners. We do that through construction and service projects but we also have some people that come out and say I’ve never held a hammer. I don’t know what I’m doing. Well, can you sit and talk? Well then you can share life with that homeowner for a little while and that makes them feel that love that we’re trying to express to them.”
