Friday January 3, 2025
0045 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on North Chestnut Street in the Village of Middle Point for a loud music complaint.
0106 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Shane Street in the Village of Ohio City for a complaint on trespassing.
0131 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Ralphs Way in the City of Van Wert for a subject with chest pain.
0921 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Spencerville Road in Washington Township for a report of a utility pole that was struck.
1032 hrs. – Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert Municipal Court for Failure to Report to Jail. Nathan D. Wappelhorst Sr. age 43 of Van Wert was being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
1046 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on State Route 49 in Tully Township for a subject who fell.
1059 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on North Main Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject having difficulty breathing.
1125 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on West Carmean Street in the Village of Ohio City for a complaint of harassment.
1138 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Van Wert Decatur Road in the City of Van Wert for a subject not feeling well and weak.
1144 hrs. – Deputies and Ohio City Fire and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Sate Route 18 in Liberty Township. Unit One, a 2011 Buick Regal driven by Serena Havill of Van Wert was northbound on State Route 118 near Township Number 15280, she began to speed up and drifted into the side of the road, causing her to be pulled into the ditch and struck a utility pole. She was treated at the scene and not transported.
1155 hrs. – Dispatched Scott EMS to a residence on Hoaglin Road in Hoaglin Township for a subject who had fallen.
1313 hrs. – Deputies and Ohio City Fire and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Van Wert Willshire Road in Liberty Township. Unit One, 2003 GMC Envoy driven by Robin Priest, was traveling south on Van Wert Willshire Road south of Augustine Road. Unit One slid off the road to the left, striking a power pole before flipping on the vehicle's passenger side. The driver of Unit One was transported to the Van Wert Hospital by Ohio City EMS. Unit one sustained functional damage and was towed by Straightline. The pole that Unit One struck was knocked down without pulling down the power lines, and AEP was notified.
1327 hrs. – Deputies responded to the area of U.S. Route 127 and State Route 81 in Liberty Township for a report of a vehicle in the ditch.
1348 hrs. – Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert County Common Pleas Court Juvenile Division for a Child Support Violation. John W. Gibson age 47 of Paulding County is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
1542 hrs. – Deputies responded to the area of Mendon Road south of Lincoln Highway in Ridge Township for a report of a vehicle off the roadway.
1558 hrs. – Dispatched Ohio City EMS to a residence on North Ball Road in the Village of Ohio City for a subject who had fallen.
1610 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of State Route 118 near Van Wert Willshire Road in Pleasant Township for a report of a vehicle in a ditch.
1615 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on West Central Avenue in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

0006 hrs. – Deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a deer on Hughes Road in York Township, no injuries were reported.
0754 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Olympic Drive in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
1110 hrs. – Deputies assisted with a Funeral Escort from the City of Van Wert to Woodlawn Cemetery in Liberty Township.
1306 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Maple Avenue in the City of Van Wert for a report of two loose dogs.
1438 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Griswold Street in the Village of Middle Point for a report of a protection order violation.
1608 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of North Market Street in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police.
1723 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township in reference to an unruly juvenile.
2134 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of North Jefferson Street in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police.
2237 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on U.S. Route 224 in Hoaglin Township for a report of a domestic dispute.
2322 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Pearson Road in Pleasant Township for a report of domestic violence. Michael James Missler age 35 of Pearson Road was arrested for Fourth Degree Misdemeanor Domestic Violence. Missler was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility

1347 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Kings Church Road in Harrison Township for a subject that fell.
1701 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Towne Center Boulevard in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
1853 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on U.S. Route 33 in Willshire Township for a report of a suspicious vehicle.
1943 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Kings Church Road in Harrison Township for a subject not feeling well.
2018 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on North Main Street in the Village of Convoy for a report of an unresponsive subject.
2210 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Lincoln Highway in Ridge Township to check a 911 call.
2337 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on South Main Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject having difficulty breathing.
