42-year-old Robert Hathorn's trial was set to begin on Jan. 31st, but this week he fired his attorney. The judge has around two weeks to find another attorney. Hathorn is charged with felonious assault of a police officer, aggravated robbery, and four other felony charges. Law enforcement says that Hathorn was pulled over by Trooper Josef Brobst on October 6th. The two men struggled for Brobst's firearm. The weapon went off, striking Brobst and Hathorn went on the run. A manhunt went on for 12 hours before he was captured by law enforcement. No new trial date has been set in his case.

20-year-old Jervon Fernandez-Wesley was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison on the count of murder. According to police, Fernandez-Wesley started the fire that killed his 14-year-old brother Michael Gillyard in August 2020. Police say Fernandez-Wesley was kicked out of his family's home, then he returned early the next morning and started fires in the neighboring duplex. Five of his other family members were able to get out. He told police he was angry at all of them for how they treated him. Fernandez-Wesley said he was sorry for his impulsive actions that led to the death of his brother.

A Lima man decides to plead guilty to a 2021 shooting, just moments before jury selection was set to begin for his trial.   32-year-old Sheldon Williams pleaded guilty to the charges of felonious assault with a gun specification, having weapons while under disability, and carrying a concealed weapon.  Lima police officers say Williams shot Rico Stafford outside of Markos Bar on April 2nd.

41-year-old, Anitaun Harris pleaded guilty to the charge of assault in Allen County Common Pleas Court. Another charge of felonious assault was dropped. Harris is currently serving a 15-year prison term on a voluntary manslaughter charge out of Stark County Ohio. The indictment alleges Harris attacked a prison employee in November of 2020 while he was at Allen Oakwood. He is currently in the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility. Harris will be sentenced in March on the new charge.

53-year-old Frank Alexander was sentenced after an Allen County jury found him guilty of 17 counts, including 10 counts of rape. There were three victims and the offenses occurred over a ten-year period starting in 2008. Two of the victims were under the age of 10 when the offenses started. Alexander didn't make any statement on the advice of his attorney because he is planning on appealing the conviction. But prosecutors say he did admit to lima police detectives what he did to the victims.

Lima Police detectives have released the name of the victim of the attack outside a westside Lima bar Saturday morning.  Police officials say 23-year-old Bradin Fischer-Jones was the person attacked outside of J's American Pub at 1 a.m. Saturday morning.   Fischer-Jones was taken to a Toledo hospital because of the seriousness of his injuries to his face and head.  The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time, but video circulating around social media shows three to four individuals kicking a man that was down on the ground just outside the entrance to the bar.  If you have information about those involved are asked to contact the Lima Police's Detectives Bureau 419-227-4444 or Crimestoppers 419-229-STOP.
