David Pepper speaks at the Allen Co. Democratic Party Fall Dinner

Rallying up their base and hoping to cement those on the fence, Democrats came out Tuesday night for the message ahead of the general election, from the left.

It was the Allen County Democratic Party Fall Dinner at the Knights of Columbus in Lima. Featured speaker, David Pepper, the Ohio Democratic Party Chairman, touted the lineup of democratic state candidates for Ohio, naming Janet Garrett, Richard Cordray, and Steve Dettelbach. There was a silent auction, cash bar, and buffet. Pepper re-iterated the importance of the Democrat's stance on key issues like healthcare, voter purging, and gerrymandering.

"We have candidates who are new faces, who are there to serve the people first, to get out of the business of lobbying and special interests," said David Pepper. "I think in addition to healthcare, ending this culture of corruption in Columbus is a top priority of ours."

Pepper is a former councilman for the City of Cincinnati and a former member of the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners.
