An Elida High School teacher has been named Ohio's District One 2018 Teacher of the Year.
Mark Suter, the computer science teacher at Elida High School, was given the title from the State Board of Education after bringing website design to the classroom with the Grit9 Design club. That club gives students the chance to design websites for local small businesses. Suter says that the award is a super special opportunity.
"This is a really cool honor; Elida is an awesome district to be in, they're really supportive of what we're trying to do in the classroom with Grit9 and running an entrepreneurial group with the kids running the business," Suter said.
Suter is now one of five finalists for 2018's Ohio Teacher of the Year.
